How to build a home yoga practice that actually sticks
August 11, 2026 · 1 min read
Practising at home sounds easy — until life gets in the way. The secret to a home practice that lasts isn’t willpower; it’s a few small, smart habits. Here they are.
1. Pick a time, not a mood
Attach yoga to something you already do — after waking, before dinner. A fixed time beats waiting to feel like it.
2. Keep it short
Ten or fifteen minutes you actually do beats an hour you keep skipping. Short and consistent wins.
3. Set your space
A mat left out in a quiet corner is a gentle reminder. You don’t need a whole room — just a little space.
4. Practise with a teacher
A live online class gives you structure, correction and accountability — the biggest reason home practices actually stick.
5. Be kind on off days
Missed a day? Just begin again. Consistency over intensity — always.
